New Length of Britain Sailing Record.
Jersey based British yachtsman Phil Sharp, adventurer Sean Conway and round the world yachtsman Alex Alley complete the first Length of Britain sailing challenge, setting a benchmark time for sailing from Land's End to John O'Groats.
The trio left Land's End on a Class 40 racing yacht at 0855hrs on Friday morning (11th).
Sharp, one of the only two British skippers to have won a solo Transatlantic race, set up the challenging passage as extreme training for his participation in the solo non stop round the world Vendee Globe race which starts on November 6th.
Sean Conway completes an incredible fourth Lands End to John O'Groats adventure already having run and cycled the length of Britain, two years ago he finished a remarkable 134 days swimming from Lands End to John O Groats.
